GW1000 Gateway

The GW1000 is a multi-protocol gateway that can easily be converted to several protocols with a firmware change (ie. DF1, ASCII, Modbus, ModTCP, AB Ethernet or Ethernet/IP to multiple DH+/DH-485) all for $1,250 USD list.

You may wish to connect your Modbus RTU devices to DH+ or change firmware to RSLINX (AB Ethernet driver) remotely over Ethernet with our GW1500-ABEIP firmware.

GW1000-DHPM: Modbus to DH+ Gateway

The GW1000-DHPM provides high speed interconnectivity between Modbus RTU devices and Allen-Bradley’s DH+ Network.  The GW1000-DHPM can be configured into either Modbus Master or Modbus Slave modes.

Master Mode:  is used when a device on the DH+ network is going to initiate all communications with one or many Modbus slave devices.

Master mode enables any DH+ station to read / write up to 100 words (per message) to any 4xxxx or 0xxxx register, and to read up to 100 words from the 1xxxx and 3xxxx registers at any Modbus Slave address from 1 to 255.

Slave mode: is used when a Master device on Modbus network is going to initiate all communications with one or many SLC’s, PLC’s or other DH+. It is assumed that a PLC, SLC or other DH+ device can originate commands to Modbus via a GW1000 in master mode, or responding to Modbus commands via a GW1000 in slave mode.

Only devices capable of transmitting DH+ message commands in PLC5 (or PLC3) format and able to receive DH+ message commands in PLC5 format can be used with the GW1000-DHPM including SLC’s, MicroLogix’s, ControlLogix’s, HMIs and other intelligent devices.

Slave mode enables a Modbus Master to read or write up to 1600 coils or 100 registers (per message) to bit or integer files in any PLC-5 station on DH+ (except 0). Modbus commands to address 0 can be “broadcast” to a selected range of DH+ stations.
